Happy 12th Birthday Eli- Hot Air Balloon 🎈

We had to wake up at 4:00am to get to the fields by 5:45am for our hot air balloon ride. I have wanted to do this for as long as I can remember and it was a bucket list adventure. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep. We went to bed at 11:00pm and I never fell asleep.

It was so exciting and I was honestly a little nervous but being a mom I had to hide my emotion. Take off was pretty exciting and smooth. The ride itself was pretty cool but I was over it after about 15 minutes. We were in the air for about an hour.

I thought they controlled your direction and needed wind to move but they really can’t control which direction they go in. They only control up and down. One thing you probably don’t realize is it is extremely hot in there. I’m short and the heat from the propane torches was strong and was pretty uncomfortable. You would think it would be cooler up there but it was actually pretty hot.

They have a group of people on the ground that they communicate with and try to determine where we would land and then they have to drive to us to get us. We all enjoyed the experience but wouldn’t care to do it again.
