The directions to our campsite were awful and it took us 3 turn arounds before we stopped to ask for directions. Once we found it everything went smoothly. Drove right in to our campsite and starting unloading. We didn’t get in until 7:30pm so the only thing I didn’t like was trying to get everything setup before it was completely dark. From now on I’d like to get an earlier start on traveling days so we have more daylight to get situated. It was a 4 hour drive and we stopped 3 times.
Our campsite was not level at all so we tried using our pads to level out the RV as much as possible. When we put the jacks down they started leaking again 😭 and the compressor started smoking a little bit. I told Guy to call a mobile RV mechanic and when he did their voicemails said they were too busy to take any new service calls 🤦🏻♀️. So I went ahead a scheduled 2 to come see us at our next location in Tennessee.
The campground is clean and very shaded....lots and lots of trees. i don’t think they had any mosquitoes but it was fly heaven, there were hundreds. They had a full house and it was still so peaceful and quiet. One day we went hiking on the trails along the falls. It was very pretty and we had fun taking pictures. It was also great exercise for us and we all enjoyed exploring the trails. My kids don’t know how or care to go out there and make friends with strangers. This drives me crazy because when I was younger I always made a friend anywhere there were other kids. I hated not having someone to play with.
I am panicking about my laundry because the last place we stayed the laundry room was disgusting so I decided to wait and do it here. However, all they have is 1 washer and 1 dryer outside of the bathrooms. I have 6-7 loads to do 🥺 We are running out of clothes. We decided to leave one day early and stop halfway to our next destination and stay in a hotel. This way we can take some nice long showers, have cell service and WiFi for a day and find a nice laundromat. 🤗
We woke up this morning and packed everything up and were ready to leave by 11:00am. Guy went to pull the jacks up and nothing happened. They aren’t budging...nothings is moving and lights are flashing 😱 We tried everything and nothing worked. We had no cell service and no WiFi so we drove 2 miles down the road to get service and made some phone calls. Came back and tried some things people suggested and none of it worked. We decided to drive down the road and found a great spot that had like 4-5 tractor trailer mechanic shops all together. We stopped at all of them and 1 guy said when he got off at 4:00 he would come try to help us.
Heading back to the campsite I remembered we have roadside assistance so I called them.
They came out in 30 minutes. Guy and him worked on it for 2 hours and somehow they did something that worked. The service guy has Verizon and had perfect service so he was able to lookup UTUBE videos and they just tried different things. I am so thankful they got it but so sad we lost a whole day. Finally 6pm we are on the road to Chattanooga, TN (2 1/2 hours away). What a day!!
one more thing....when we got in to head out at 6pm our AC stopped working upfront in the drivers area 🤦🏻♀️😭🤬 no idea what happened but it wasn’t stopping us. We just opened the windows and enjoyed the fresh air!
