Moving Along to Kentucky

Even though we enjoyed our day yesterday it was one hell of a day. I woke up early to do laundry so we could leave early since we had a 5 hour drive. I forgot my detergent/dryer sheets again so I had to go back for those and then one of the dryers ran the whole cycle but never heated up so I had to wait another 45 minutes for that one load. 🧺

We were ready to leave at 11:20 and they had an employee sitting at the end of our campsite rushing us. (Checkout is 11:00) Like they needed to get in and clean up 🤷🏼‍♀️

We noticed that someone had backed into our car at some recent time because we have a dent in the back corner of the car that was not there a couple days ago 😡

We also realized the tow dolly is crooked and it’s probably what’s tearing up our straps so we went looking for more straps and to find someone to help straighten it. After 3 stops we found an automotive mechanic shop. They were so nice and took us right in. They fixed our dolly and put 4 new tires on the car in one hour...in and out 👌🏻

While driving around everything on the countertop in the RV flew off the counter. Our brand new toaster broke in pieces, my diffuser spilled everywhere and the plates and utensils were all over the place. I should have known better but it hadn’t been a problem before. 🤪 I was outside at the mechanics and Aliyah opened the door and said everything fell out of the fridge. I knew I should have bought those stinkin‘ fridge tension rods!!!! I walked inside and found a dozen eggs broken all over the floor. AND because we were on a small hill they were running all down the floor. This was NOT fun cleaning up 🧽 🧼

We got back on the road and I wanted to stop by Lazy Days RV store so we could buy some covers for our chairs and couch. They didn’t have any but do you know what I did buy.....I bought the refrigerator tension rods 😂 and ones for the cabinets. Then we grabbed lunch and gas and back on the road.

Along the way there was a big blown out tractor trailer tire in the middle of the highway. We couldn’t move around it because we had cars right next to us. We drove over it and I cringed. It ended up breaking our step 🤬

We drove past an exit named “Eli” so you know we stopped and made Eli get out for a picture 😊

When we were 5 miles to campsite we stopped to get some groceries and realized Guy lost my credit card and has no idea where it may be. He used it for our lunch but doesn’t know. I called them and they said they don’t have it, but we can’t find it anywhere. 🥺

We missed our turn to the campground and couldn’t back up. We ended up taking the car off the dolly and I would just drive it. Guy still couldn’t back up the RV and dolly then he realized he could go straight. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Pulled into our campsite at 9:30pm....PITCH DARK outside. We had to use the lights from the car and phones to get RV situated and in place. Not an easy task when you don’t know where you are. Bugs and spiders everywhere. 🕷

Welcome to Yogi Bear Jellystone Mammoth Cave Campground. 🐻

Today we went and visited Mammoth Cave National Park. It was pretty cool. Due to the coronavirus they are only offering the tour of one of their caves so we didn’t get to see all the different parts of the caves.

My hand from playing volleyball yesterday

Such a beautiful drive. I missed the welcome to Kentucky sign 😭

Such a nice way to travel 😴

My handy man fixing our step

“The step is fixed” 😂
